About Us

Located in Decatur, GA, a suburb of Atlanta, Word Church International was founded by businessman, humanitarian and pastor Ron Daugherty. Since its inception in 1997, WCI has been a pillar in the Atlanta area. Due to the simplistic approach of teaching the Word of God and the spirit of excellence which overshadows the ministry, success is imminent.

Pastor Ron received the vision for Word of Deliverance Outreach Ministries in 1992 while attending Selma University in Selma, AL as an undergraduate. The church started as a bible study with four faithful people in 1996. Teaming up with Feed the Hungry Foundation in Atlanta, the bible study grew into an outreach ministry where hundreds of families were fed by volunteers of the ministry. In addition to feeding families, a clothing closet was opened. As word of Word of Deliverance got around many came from the local community and other areas to hear the Word of God and witness a change in a man the community had known all his life. The ministry grew to the point of needing its own facility. In September 1997 the church moved to a location in downtown Lithonia, GA, only to “Possess the Land” in a few short years. In 2000, the church purchased the building and paid the mortgage in four years.

Due to a strong deliverance ministry and a promise from God the ministry name was changed. March 2005 Word of Deliverance Outreach Ministries became Word Church International.

He was ordained by the Late Archbishop Jimmie Smith, Light of the World Interdenominational International Association in September 1998.

In July 2007 Word Church International relocated to the Decatur, GA area and Pastor Ron Daugherty was also consecrated Bishop in July 2007 by the Late Archbishop Jimmie Lee Smith.

Word Church International has made an impact on the world and continues to spread the good news through bible studies, seminars, international tours, books, CDs.

Word Church International has ventured and assist in several international and domestic missions:  Assisted with the building of an orphanage in Penal, Trinidad; Supplying materials for a clinic in Kinshasa, Congo and Nyeri, Kenya in the continent of Africa as well as providing shelter for the homeless and substance abuse challenged men domestically.

The borders of the United States of America do not restrict this ministry. Just as its name indicates, Word Church International is an international ministry.

I met now bishop Ron, then pastor Ron Daugherty in 2004 when he came to Dekalb County Jail to share with us about Potters Corporation Christian recovery homes. I was released into the care of pastor Daugherty. I resided at Naomi’s House on two separate occasions. I quickly became a member of then Word of Deliverance as I witnessed and experienced council, miracles, healing and deliverance. Because of the teachings I’ve received, I am now in my second year of college, Self employed and still sober.

Pastor Ron’s bible studies have led me the direction that lead me to hunger and thirst for more righteousness; from the revelation of God’s salvation, through his word.
