Fasting
Why Fast?
Simply put, fasting and prayer draws you closer to God. For the born-again Christian, it reignites the fire in you that may be on the verge of burning out. Fasting builds your faith through discipline and sacrifice. God has a great plan for you, a greater purpose! Through fasting and prayer, He will begin to reveal just what He has in store for you.
If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, we invite you to join us on this 21-day fast:
- Are you in need of healing or a miracle?
- Do you need the tender touch of God in your life?
- Is there a dream inside you that only He can make possible?
- Are you in need of a fresh encounter?
- Do you desire a deeper, more intimate and powerful relationship with the Lord?
- Are you ready to have heightened sensitivity to the desires of God?
- Do you need to break away from bondages that have been holding you hostage?
- Is there a friend or loved one that needs Salvation?
- Do you desire to know God’s will for your life?
21-Day Fasting Basics
Each year, members, friends and partners of Word Church International participate in a variation of the popular Daniel’s Fast. The basic guideline through our fast is “NO BREAD, NO MEATS, NO SWEETS.” Drink plenty of water and juice (100% natural, no concentrated or artificial flavors). Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains. Most importantly throughout the fast, pray continually!
When going on a Daniel fast, or any type of fast, if you have questions about eating certain types of food or what Scripture says, prayerfully seek the Lord and be led by the Spirit for the specifics for your personal fast.
